Why Use a Magenta Screen?

Check Green Sub-pixels

Magenta is Red + Blue. This means the Green sub-pixel should be completely OFF. If you see a white dot on this screen, it means your Green sub-pixel is stuck ON.

Color Uniformity

Magenta is a sensitive color for detecting color shifts. If one part of your screen looks more reddish or bluish than the rest, your panel has uniformity issues.

Fix Stuck Pixels

Rapidly flashing bright secondary colors like Magenta can sometimes unstick a pixel by forcing the liquid crystals to change state quickly.

Mood Lighting

Create a vibrant neon-pink/magenta atmosphere for photography, cyberpunk-themed videos, or ambient room lighting.

Can I use this for color grading?

Yes. It is useful for checking if your monitor is tinting towards green or magenta, a common axis of adjustment in color correction.
