Why Use a Yellow Screen?

Check OLED Burn-in

OLED burn-in often affects the red and green sub-pixels unevenly. A yellow screen (Red + Green) helps you spot these aging patterns clearly.

Find Stuck Blue Pixels

A yellow screen uses only Red and Green light. If you see a white dot, it means the Blue sub-pixel is stuck "ON". If you see red or green dots, the other sub-pixel is dead.

Warm Ambient Light

Yellow light mimics sunlight and is less harsh on the eyes than white light. Use it as a warm reading lamp or to create a cozy atmosphere.

Insect Repellent Light

Unlike bright white or blue light, yellow light is less attractive to many flying insects. Useful if you are using your screen outdoors at night.

How to Test for Burn-in?

  1. Launch Fullscreen: Click the button above to fill your screen with Yellow.
  2. Scan for Shadows: Look for faint "ghost images" of icons, status bars, or text that shouldn't be there.
  3. Check Uniformity: Does the yellow look consistent, or are there greenish/reddish patches?
  4. Exit: Click anywhere or press ESC to return.

Technical Details: The Color Yellow

  • Hex Code: #FFFF00 RGB (255, 255, 0). It is created by mixing Red and Green light at full intensity.
  • Sub-pixel Logic Since it relies on Red and Green, it is the perfect diagnostic color to check the health of these two specific sub-pixels simultaneously.

Yellow Screen FAQs

My yellow screen looks greenish. Why?

This is common on older OLED or AMOLED screens as the red organic pixels degrade faster than green ones. It's a sign of panel aging.

Can I use this for lighting?

Yes. A yellow screen provides a warm, sunny glow that is excellent for photography or video calls where you want to simulate natural sunlight.
